As a Tax Accountant you will analyze and prepare tax records and reports.
What You Will Do:
- Prepares property tax statement utilizing customized software applications.
- Responsible for the timely payment and mailing of returns, electronically when possible.
- Review property tax assessment and work papers and file appeals when needed.
- Administers property tax audits.
- Assists in preparing indirect tax returns by utilizing customized software applications, including but not limited to the following:
federal and state excise tax returns on alcoholic beverages, sales and use tax returns, and business tax returns. - Maintains tax calendars and tax records.
- Conducts or participate in tax research.
- Responsible for communicating with management regarding the statuses of returns audits and appeals.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance and timeliness.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in accounting reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience, including Excel and Access
What Will Set You Apart:
- Bachelor s degree in accounting plus 5 years experience in accounting, public accounting, or general corporate tax reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Master s degree in taxation.
- CPA.
- Experience with SAP and/or JD Edwards ERP System.
- Experience with PTMS property tax software.
- Experience with RIA/CCH Online Research Software.
- Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Experience writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.
- Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions. Skilled in interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Skilled in performing work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult in character, usually involving limited responsibility, requiring frequent evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity.
- Understands and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of this field of specialization.
